from Laura on 09/05/2025 01:58 AMFinally, after getting the chicken soup cooked and cooled down enoough to put in a container, Laura quickly did so and the packed it up with the other things. She then began taking her things out to her car, and as she was doing so began to say a little prayer for Ella and Elle. Once Laura got everything loaded and was inside getting her purse and car keys, she saw her phone on the charger and grabbed it. But before she walked completely out of her house, she couldn't help but stop and wonder if she should call Hoss and let him know she is coming or if she should just go over there and suprise everyone.
After about 10 minutes of thinking about it, Laura decided she would call Hoss while she was on her way over there. So, she went under contacts and found Hoss's name. She hit the green call button and listened to Hoss's phone ringing. As she did that, she began to walk out the front door and close it behind her. Then she put the phone on her shoulder and began to lock up her front door. Once that was done, she turned around and headed for her car as she still heard Hoss's phone continue to ring. It wasn't like him not to answer on the first two or three rings, so she knew that something was wrong. Laura hung up and got into her car. Once she was buckled in and had her car started, she tried again to call Hoss, letting his phone ring and hoped he would answer soon.

from Eric on 09/03/2025 01:13 PM"Daddy....I don't feel good," Ella said as she started crying just as Ben came out with a cool wash cloth. Hoss took the rag and softly cleaned up her mouth and then went over to the water pump and quickly rised it out. Once that was done, Hoss rung it some of the escess water and took it over to Ella, placing it gently on her head. Then he gently picked her up into his arms, and closed the door behind him as Ben picked up Elle. She could tell that there was something wrong with Ella and she laid her head on Ben's shoulder very sad like as she watched her father taking care of Ella.
As Hoss wipped down Ella's face to help bring down the fever, he began to speak to her to help calm her down. "I know you don't sweetie," he said softly. "But we are gonna get you better so that you can play with your sister," he said softly as he left the wash cloth on top of her head. Then Hoss gently picked her up and pulled her out of the truck. He didn't care if he stepped into Ella's throwup, the only thing that mattered was getting his girls inside and taking care of Ella while she sick.

from Laura on 09/01/2025 01:29 AMIt only took a half an hour before her phone was comepetely charged. So, Laura took off the charger and went to her contacts to find Hoss's name. Once she got to Hoss's name, she started to hit the green call button and then stopped for a moment. Something inside of her was telling her that something was very wrong. It was like she had a feeling that Ella was sick and that not only was they going to not make it tonight, but the fact that Hoss might be too busy to answer his phone. So, Laura got out of her contacts list and locked her phone. Oncec that was done, Laura went into the kitchen and began to make her homemade chicken noodle soup.
After she got that started, Laura began to get the rest of the things together. Though she wasn't going to take everything she had planned for that night over to the Ranch house, Laura was planning on making sandwiches for her, Hoss and Elle. And of course she would make an extra one for Ella, in case she felt like eating that. Once she had all the sandwiches made, she put the german chocolate cake into a cake bowl with a lid and placed both into a large tote bag. When that was done, and she had the gifts she gotten everyone packed into her purse, she went back to finish up the chicken noode soup so that she could head over to the ranch house to see if she coud be of some help.

The next glance of his girls, he saw that Elle was trying to comfort her sister the best she could. That did bring a smile to his face even though his heart ached for his girls. Finally, Hoss reached the Main Ranch house and soon was parking his truck. After he parked it and turned it off, he got out and started to get Elle out of his truck. Once she was out, he closed her door and the both of them walked around to the other side of the truck to where Ella was sitting in her car seat. Hoss no sooner opened the door and got unhooked from her car seat and unbuckled from the big belt, did Ella turn and started throwing up.
As Hoss was getting Ella's wheelchair fromt he back when he heard Ella start to throw up. He turned and looked at her with concern all over his face. He kept Elle back from Ella's mess as they watched her throwing up and crying at the same time. Finally, when she was done, Hoss turned to Elle and signed for her to go inside and tell grandpa that you need a cool wash cloth. Elle nodded and then ran inside. Hoss finished getting out Ella's wheelchair and getting it set up, he began to speak to his daughter. "You just stay right ther and rest sweetie," he told her as he was trying to stay calm himself and not show her how worried he really was.

from Laura on 08/24/2025 10:52 PMAs Laura was driving home, she couldn't help but think about Hoss's text from earlier. If Ella was getting sick, she knew he wouldn't bring them around. She also knew that would break their little hearts and that was something she couldn't have. So she decided that when she got home, she would call Hoss and see how Ella was doing. Maybe they could still get together and have a little picnic in her room. She could make them some homemade chicken noodle soup or dumplings, and she had desert already made, which was a chocolate cake that she could also bring over, if Ella was feeling up to all of this. And maybe they could watch a movie and just be together. That was what tonight was all about anyway, just being together and being a happy mock family. Those thoughts make Laura smile as she was pulling into her driveway.
After parking her car and shutting it down, Laura got out and after closing her door, she locked it and then went into the house. She put her purse on her table, pulled out her cell phone to not only check for messages and/or missed phone calls, but to also check as see how much charge she had. She knew she was waiting for the jewelery store to call and she knew she still needed to call Hoss and check up on Ella. She could see she had about 50% battery life left, so she put her cell phone on its charger and went to make her something to eat while her phone charged. Once she ate and her phone was charged, she would then maked her phone call.

"Okay daddy," Ella said softly as she put her head back. She knew she wasn't feeling the best and she knew that tonight would get cancelled and it was all her fault. Hoss kept driving and every once in a while looking back at Ella and Elle. Elle was doing good, but Ella wasn't doing so good and he could see the sadness on her face and even a few tearss. He knew she hated being sick, but there was nothing that could be done about it. Finally, even with tears still falling over not being able to go see Miss Laura, Ella began to speak to her father. "Daddy, since we probably won't go tonight and I will have to go to bed, will you come watch movies with me and Elle?" she asked him.

from Laura on 08/24/2025 01:49 AMLaura couldn't believe all the necklaces that were from mommy to her child, whether it be son or daughter. Laura couldn't help but smile as she carefully looked through each and every necklace until she found the perfect ones. She asked if the necklaces she found came in one for the mom as well as one for the girls and she said yes. That made Laura even happier as she told the clerk that she would take three of the same necklaces. And she also told her that she wanted each girls names put on the back of the necklace and both names on her necklace, and the clerk nodded and wrote it down just below everything she wanted done to Hoss's pocket watch. After everything was written down, the clerk told Laura that it would be a little bit before everything one done. So Laura decided to leave her cell number and have them call when her purchases was ready. The clerk nodded and said that Laura could pay whens she came back to pick them up and Laura agreed and then was soon out the door and headed to her car to head home.

from Eric on 08/22/2025 08:41 AMHoss could tell that Ella wasn't feeling good again. And he could see she was runnin a fever, and that made him feel really bad. He knew the girls were looking foward to this special dinner for several weeks. And he would hate like hell for them to miss this dinner because Ella got sick. Hoss didn't say anything for a little while as he continued driving to the ranch house. Finally, as they were getting closer and close to the ranch house, Hoss looked into the rear view mirror and began to speak to his girls. "I'll tell you what," he said. "I won't cancle us going over to Miss Laura's for dinner," he told her as he watched his girls's faces light up with happiness. "But I think I better call Miss Laura and tell her that you aren't feeling the best," he told Ella. "Okay sweetie? That way she can make up her own mind if she wants us to still come over or wait for another day," he told her as he saw the disappointment mixed with hope coming over her face.

She continued looking until she finally found the one that she knew that Hoss would absolutely love. She told the clerk, who finally got around to coming over and helping her. After Laura told the clerk which watch she wanted and what she wanted to have done to it and then she pulled out the picture of herself with the Ella and Elle. She told the clerk, who was writing all this down, where she wanted the picture and what she wanted the inscription to say.
When all that was done and the clerk to the picture and had everything written down, Laura then went onto ask about a couple of matching necklaces that for the two special girls in the picture. She told the clerk that she wanted it to be sort of a mommy/daughter necklace that the three of them could share. The clerk thought a moment and then smile came over the clerks face as she led Laura over to their new display of mommy/chid necklaces.

"I'm just a bit cold, but other than that, I'm okay," she added as she turned to her sister and began to ask her if she was alright. After Elle answered her, Ella turned back to her father and began to speak to him again. "She said she's doing great. She's really excited for tonight with Miss Laura," Ella told him, though she was trying to keep from throwing up. Though she knew her father was watching her, she bit down on her bottom lip as if she was hoping that he didn't notice her trying to keep down her sickness. She didn't want to be the reason why they had to cancel. Finally, Ella began to speak to her father with the truth in her voice. "Daddy....I promise I will be okay. I don't want you to cancel tonight because of me," she said softly and sadly.
